Get Ripped Abs By Doing Basic Strenght Training

The best way to get hard ripped abs is by doing some strenght training. Increasing your cores strenght has many benefits and strenght training is the most important in this case.

Strength training is not running on a treadmill, riding a stationary bike, or using an elliptical machine. Although those types of aerobic machines use “resistance” to increase your workout intensity,
it’s not the same as strength training. Strength training is structured according to different goals throughout the season, just as training is structured around key races.

Strength training is a fancy way of describing the process of building muscle power by lifting free weights or working out against resistance, by using equipment like Nautilus or Universal machines
or by working against large elastic bands. While “aerobics” was the exercise catchword of the 1970′s and 80′s, strength training is the trend of the 1990′s, hailed as a critically important
complement to aerobics in a total fitness program.

Strength training is linked to high bone mineral density in adults of all ages and both sexes. Osteoporosis is a type of skeletal deterioration, characterized by decreasing bone density that weakens
the bone structure Graves and Franklin 2001. Strength training is performing a lift for several repetitions, 10-20 generally is recommended for children. There is such a high level of concentration
for weightlifting that the chance of injury outweighs any potential benefit.

Strength training is a great way to spice things up and add a completely different challenge to your body. The nice thing about strength training is that it offers so many ways to set up your workouts.
there’s always something new to try and you never run out of new exercises, different types of resistance, new routines and a variety of ways to work your body. Strength training is any exercise you do
against some kind of resistance. This resistance can be machines, free weights, tubing or your own body weight. It is essential for optimal health, fitness, and function; this is especially true in the
over-50 audience. The challenge is in making strength training safe, sensible, and effective, given the specific needs of this market segment.

Strength training is the practice of using free weights, weight machines, and rubber resistance bands to build muscles. With resistance the muscles have to work extra hard to move. Strength training
is done FIRST following the warm-up on days when you do both strength and cardio training. This will optimize the hormonal response that maximizes your body’s ability to build and develop muscle.
Strength training is primarily an anaerobic activity, although some proponents have adapted it to provide the benefits of aerobic exercise through circuit training.

Strength training differs from bodybuilding, weightlifting, power lifting and strongman, which are sports rather than forms of exercise.

Strength training is a great way to improve strength, endurance, and muscle tone. But remember to start slowly, use proper form, avoid heavy weights, and increase workouts gradually to prevent injury.
Strength training is important for cardiac health because heart disease risk is lower when the body is leaner. One study found that cardiac patients gained not only strength and flexibility but also
aerobic capacity when they did strength training three times a week as part of their rehabilitation program. Strength training is critical for combating frailty and disability, for increasing strength
and mobility, for staying active and self-sufficient. Research has consistently shown the fitness and health benefits of strength training for older adults.

Strength training is physical activity intended to increase muscle strength and mass. Adults who engage in strength training are less likely to experience loss of muscle mass 1 , functional
decline 2 , and fall-related injuries than adults who do not strength train 3 . Strength training is not just for male bodybuilders and competitive athletes. It is for everyone and yields many
benefits to the human body, internally and externally.

Get That Flat Stomach Look? Get Rid Of Big Tummy, Pot Belly And Beer Belly Fast.

How to get that flat stomach look and get rid of big tummy, pot belly and beer belly fast?

By exercising your Transversus Abdominus Muscle. This is the muscle in your abdomen that holds your stomach in giving you the flat belly look. This muscle acts like a corset around your tummy by holding your tummy in and if the muscle is weak, your belly will be distended more easily making your tummy looking much bigger than it should just like having a beer belly. This is one of the reasons why people have pot belly or beer belly besides simply blaming it on tummy fat. This is the muscle that can help you get that flat stomach look. If you want to get that flat stomach look, you must strengthen this muscle.

Just to have a feel of how this muscle work, try blowing out all the air in your lungs and pull your tummy in. There, you have just used your transversus abdominus muscle to execute that movement.

Start the exercise by exhaling all the air from your lungs hard. At the same time, pull in your tummy as tight as you can and at the same time visualizing your belly button is about to touch your spine. Do breathe lightly in that position and hold the posture for about 45 seconds. Then repeat the exercise for a few more sets. You will then be teaching your abs muscle to continuously hold your tummy in giving you flat stomach look.

The beauty of this exercise is that you carry it out everywhere and anywhere without ever going to the gym. It is so discreet that people will not even notice you exercising even when you are waiting for the office lift or at your desk at work.

A more effective version of this exercise would require you to be on all fours in a crawling position. Then execute the exercise as described above except that this time, you are on your hands and feet. Do both exercises every other day and when combined with a fat loss routine of a proper diet, weight training and cardio exercises, you will get that flat stomach look in no time along with that glorious six pack abs.

Top 8 Most Talked About Weight Loss Myths

Heres some more myths weve been taught to believe over the years. Experts weigh in on the truth that lies behind each of these tall stories.

All carbohydrates are bad for you and should be avoided. TRUTH Carbohydrates have a moderate amount of calories having half as many as fat. Simple carbohydrates sugar should be limited – complex carbohydrates whole grain, starches etc. are higher in nutrients. Problems occur when servings are too large!

You can eat more foods if they are low fat or fat free. TRUTH Low fat or fat free does not mean calorie free. Usually, when the fat is taken out, sugar and other carbohydrates are added in to keep the taste.

Dairy products are fattening and should be avoided. TRUTH Dairy products contain a good quality protein to build muscles and help organs work properly, and calcium to strengthen bones. For weight control its better to consume low-fat dairy products skim or 1 milk and products, like cheese and yogurt.

Eating after 8 p.m. causes you to gain weight. TRUTH It does not matter what time of day you eat. It is what and how much you eat as well as how much physical activity you do during the day that determines whether you gain, lose or maintain weight.

What you eat is more important than how much you eat. TRUTH the amount you have and how often you have it is more important. You should try to consume healthy food choices in the recommended portion sizes and save those foods and beverages that are high in fat, sugar and calories for special occasions.

You need to exercise for at least 45 minutes at a time to get the full benefit. TRUTH Adults should engage in moderate-intensity physical activities for at least 30 minutes on 5 or more days of the week. Research has shown that the activity does not need to be done all at one time- 30 minutes can be split into 2 – 15 minute intervals and provide the same benefits.

All vegetarians are healthy eaters. TRUTH vegetarians on average eat fewer calories and less fat than non-vegetarians. However they can make food choices that contribute to weight gain by eating large amounts of high-fat, high-calorie foods as well as food with little nutritional value. The term vegetarian is not synonymous with health.

As long as you watch your food intake, you do not need to exercise. TRUTH If you are trying to maintain or even lose weight, exercise can help you increase your lean tissue muscle while decreasing your fat stores. However, the benefit of regular physical activity goes well beyond maintaining a healthy weight.

Consuming highly nutritious foods, paying close attention to portion sizes reading labels, consuming sweets and treats in moderation and engaging in regular physical activity is the best plan to maintain a healthy lifestyle. And make sure you have all the facts before passing health info on to the next person!

Eating Carbs Actually Leads To Weight Loss And Health

Carbohydrates are the single most important food you can eat.

That statement probably goes against everything you’ve ever heard, so let me explain.

If you don’t believe me, take this little test. Think of a carb!
If you’re like most Americans, bread, pasta, soft drinks, French fries, sugar, and similar foods probably flew into your mind. Yes, these foods are carbs — highly processed and refined ones.

And if these are the kinds of carbs you consume on a regular basis, let me warn you, unless you regularly run marathons, you’re most likely either overweight or heading down the road to weight gain.

You may like them, you may consider them “comfort foods,” you may think that they couldn’t be so bad since they are so predominant in our current diet. But the biological bottom line is that human beings have not evolved to metabolize these types of carbohydrates.

They slow down your metabolism and contribute to every one of the major diseases associated with aging including diabetes, heart disease, dementia and cancer.

In most, cases they are also “empty” calorie foods-the worst possible combination — high caloric foods, low in nutrients. They deprive you of vital nutrients as well as burden your body with the task of digesting food molecules that aren’t giving you anything you need.

Eating them especially in excess is a prescription for weight gain. But they’re not the end of the carb story. If you’re like most people, you may not realize that the wide world of carbs is actually much, much bigger than this limited crowd of processed carbs.

In contrast, natural carbohydrates, which come to your table just like Mother Nature made them, contain many essential nutrients and specialized chemicals that turn up your metabolism via newly discovered plant chemicals call phytonutrients.

So you have a choice use phytonutrients to spark your metabolism into action, or drown your metabolism with indigestible nutrient-poor carbs.

Our genetic nutritional template goes back 20,000 years. Our ancestors foraged for wild food, like wild berries, grasses, roots, and mushrooms to find life-giving phytonutrients that all humans are designed by nature to eat.

On a recent vacation I found myself in a sea of phytonutrients in the wild islands of Southeast Alaska. I was foraging along with the grizzly bears for bog cranberries, blueberries, nagoonberries, raspberries, and strawberries. These scrumptious berries, bursting with phytonutrients, were smaller, richer in color and taste, and lower in sugar than their domestic berry cousins.

Here’s a tip The greater variety and the deeper the color of plant foods you eat, the higher their concentration of phytonutrients. The key is to learn which phytonutrient-dense foods can prevent disease and promote weight loss.

Want phytonutrient power?

Here ‘s a small sample of the many superfoods that contain these powerful phytonutrients isoflavones in soy foods, lignans in flax seeds, catechins in green tea, polyphenols in cocoa yes, chocolate!, glucosinolates in broccoli, carnosol in rosemary, and resveratrol in red wine.

And there are hundreds more that can help you unlock the secret to natural weight loss. All of these compounds — and dozens more — will help you fight disease and obesity. These special compounds literally communicate with your genes and turn on messages of health and weight loss. They are key to the success people experience in losing weight on a program I’ve developed during my 20-years practicing medicine, called UltraMetabolism.

Before you reach for that Cinnabon, know that phytonutrients only occur in whole, unrefined, unprocessed plant foods. All vegetables and many fruits score high in phytonutrients, while processed carbs, like bread and pasta, have virtually none.

Here’s a shorthand to distinguish between the metabolism boosters and the processed carbs that will only weigh you down

Anything that has been packaged or put through a machine is processed like a potato chip. Anything that comes right out of the earth is natural like a plum.

Don’t let all the terminology — high fat, low-fat, high-carb, low-carb, high glycemic index, low glycemic index, complex carbs and simple carbs — confuse you. The key is eating whole, real, unprocessed, food found as close to nature as possible. Now you know why your grandmother always told you to eat your vegetables!

Folk wisdom passed down the generations showed how to give the body what it needs. In the early twenty-first century, that wisdom is being confirmed in the research of leading edge scientists. So you can follow these recommendations I offer with total confidence that the latest medical science backs them up.

This new science reveals why you should never do what some ill-advised diets suggest cut out all carbs. Not a good idea-because you also cut out all the phytonutrients and the fiber that only comes from whole plant foods.
Along with their obesity fighting chemicals, vitamins, and minerals to accelerate your metabolism, most whole carbohydrates are filled with healthy plant fiber to slow the absorption of sugar into your bloodstream.

And for super fast weight loss, you’ll want to eat some special “super” fiber foods which I use as my secret weapon with many patients who have had difficulty losing weight. Once you incorporate them into your diet, you’ll feel full, experience steady energy, and will never be tempted to overeat.

Here’s a guarantee If you’ve been consuming highly processed foods such as sodas, chips, and crackers, and you decide to boost your intake of those powerful phytonutrients that I’ve reviewed, you’ll be taking the first step towards re-programming your body for automatic weight loss and health.

My dirty little secret as a doctor is that I never treat anybody specifically to lose weight; I simply help them become healthy using these and other techniques and the weight automatically comes off.

So remember, eat your carbs, but make them the right carbs!

10 Steps to Fat Loss

1 Calculate how many calories you body needs to consume to maintain your existing weight. This is called you maintenance calories.Search Google with “calorie needs” and you will find a few different calculators to help you with this

2 Initially deduct 10to a maximum of 500Kcaloff the total maintenance calories. Drastically reducing your calories will result in muscle and water loss – not fat loss.

3Divide you calories over 5 or 6 meals rather then 2 or 3. You should aim to eat every 3-4 hours.

4Cut out all simple carbohydrates except straight after exercise, eat whole grain, high fibre foods.

5 Exercise at least 3 times a week, doing 30 minutes of cardio to a reasonable level of intensity. This will help to create the calorie deficit and encourage your body to lose fat.

6Make simple replacements in your diet, Sweetener in place of sugar, diet drinks in place of full sugar drinks, use leaner cuts of meat etc. At first these changes may be difficult but you will get used to them and make vital calorie savings every day.

7 Drink plenty of water – at least 2 litres of water every day – if you are dehydrated you body will be less efficient and will make fat loss more difficult.

8 Try to eat low carbcomplex only!, low fat and moderate protein. From my experience the South Beach Diet is excellent.

9Keep a food diary to monitor how many calories you are consuming – it is very easy to over eat.

10 Supplementing you diet can make fat loss easier. A diet high in protein can help preserve muscle more muscle means an increase in metabolism. How Not To Gain Holiday Weight So You Have No Need To Lose Weight

Holiday season is just round the corner. There will be parties, celebrations, food and champagne. Ahhhh….that irresistible succulent Christmas turkey and sumptious pudding. That mouth watering new year buffet and the countdown champagne are so tempting. Your spirit is willing but your flesh is week. You binge.

So what is price you pay for your hoilday binge? Well, stepped onto the bathroom scale and horror of horrors, you have gained a few pounds!! Aaaaaaaaarrrrgghhh!! You pulled your hair and gnash your teeth wondering how you can lose the holiday weight you have gained. You even contemplate to engage a personal trainer to put you on a weight loss program. Whoa, fret no longer. With a little thought and planning, you can avoid holiday weight gain.

Here are some tips on how not to put on holiday weight so that you don’t have to lose weight post holiday season.

1 Just Remember that the holiday season is just a few days.

So that the days you squeal , “I will gain weight around the holidays,” or “I know I will gain 5 pounds during holiday season” or “Ill start a weight loss program after holiday season is over.” are over. Why? Well, since you know that there is only a couple of days you will eat more, then you just eat more on those days and no more. Don’t let it the binge into a week or more by taking home all the leftovers or storing more sweets snf pastries than you need for that particular holiday. It is usually what people find in the fridge and on the kitchen shelf after the holiday that they continue to binge. Empty fridge and the shelves. This will help you not to put on too much weight so you need not lose weight post holiday season.

2 Turn Off Your TV Set

Hey! Instead of watching all those holiday special programs on your goggle box, get moving! Instead of watching a soccer game on TV, get a ball and go to the nearest park for a kick around. Instead of lying on your couch snacking to a packet of chips, go lie by the poolside, then do a few laps. Better still, get your family and friends to join you. Go for a jog instead. If it is winter where you live, be innovative, think of some indoor activities or exercises you can do.While others gain weight, you may even lose weight. Afterall its a holiday. Have fun!

3 Avoid Acohol To Avoid Weight Gain

One gram of alcohol packs a whalloping 7 calories. In contrast, carbs and protein have only 4 calories per gram. Calories from alcohol are just, well, calories with zero nutritional value. They will rapidly convert into fat fast when you do not burn them off quickly. Avoid high-calorie mixed drinks like cocktails that are full of sugar or beer which are high in carbohydrates which translate into even more calories. You will definitely need to be on a weight loss program if you indulge in too much alcohol.

4 Drink Plenty Of Water

Juices, soft drinks and coffee don’t count! Just good ole plain water. Water flushes out toxins in the body, helps the body recover from dehydration caused by alcohol consumption. You will also feel full so that you will not over eat resulting in gaining weight.

5 Skip Dessert To Lose Weight

Do you need those sweet and calorie laden thingies? If you must have them, choose those that are not that sweet or even better, just have some fibrous fruits and nuts. Do this to keep your weight in check.

If you can keep to these tips this coming holiday season, then you will not gain weigh and thus may not need to lose weight post holiday or embark on a weight loss program. Simple and cool isn’t it?

Weight Loss Or Fat Loss – Important Differences To Lose Weight And Fat Healthily

Some people used the term weight loss while others call it fat loss whilst many use the terms weight loss and fat loss interchangeably. Do they mean the same thing? To many people, they do mean the same thing. But the terms may be entirely different in meaning. You must know the difference if you want to lose weight or lose fat effectively and healthily.

When you step onto your bathroom scale every morning, what you will be reading from the scale is weight loss and not fat loss. Bath room scales are never accurate in determining fat loss.

Why? Because it measures your overall weight and not your body fat per se. If you weigh yourself in the morning before breakfast after your bowel movement, you will probably get your lowest reading of the day because your body is dehydrated through hours of non fluid replenishment when you were sleeping and after emptying your bowels, more water and wastes are flushed away so much so that you are you are lighter. After a night of sleep and not eating anything, your carbohydrate store is running low and therefore you are even lighter without the stored carbohydrate known as glycogen. What happened then? You just loss weight not loss fat! Your body fat is still there while the weight of other substances such as glycogen, wastes, water etc are depleted.

Now go weigh yourself again after dinner when you are fully replenished through meals and consumption of water and it may surprised you that you may probably weigh 2kg or more heavier and that is at least 4.4 pounds! You just gained weight and may even gained fat! Now you can see that it is such a misnomer when people think weight loss and fat loss are the same thing.

Why must you know the difference? Because for most of us, especially those who are on the fat side want to lose fat and not necessarily want to lose weight. Getting the drift?

Now for the more important part. Mere weight loss may cause you to lose muscle and in turn, make you gain body fat later. Yes, it is ironical. That is because the more muscle mass you have, the more you burn fat efficiently because muscle is an active tissue and it requires calories to function. Body fat just sit there doing nothing and thus do not burn calories on its own. So the less muscle mass you have, the less calories your body will burn. The fewer calories your body burn, the more calories ended up being stored as body fat! Therefore it is important to lose fat but not merely lose weight which may include the loss of muscle tissues.

How is it that a person may lose muscle on a weight loss program? Well for starters, we commonly hear about people going on this diet and that diet. Most diets demand a severe restriction of food or calorie intake. Your body will then signal to your mind that you are in a starvation mode and the body is designed to store fat for the impending famine and will use up your muscle for energy in your daily activities.

Some diets advocate a severe cut in carbohydrate. Carbohydrate is your body’s first source of energy. When your body is depleted of carbohydrate, it turns to your protein muscles and body fat indiscriminately for energy. Now to make matters worse, because of the restricted carbohydrate consumed, there will be fewer carbohydrate calories to be used as energy calories and that again will signal the onset of starvation mode again. The vicious cycle of your body cannibalizing its own muscle is set in motion again. The same applies to people on slimming pills or salon fat loss programs.

So some people say ok, Chris, I see your point, so I will just do plenty of cardio exercises to lose weight. Another grave mistake. Have you ever wondered why marathon runners, those who run many kilometers often and are doing cardio exercises almost everyday are so skinny with no muscle tone? Because your body is a wonderful machine. It is designed to adapt. When you run or skip or swim long enough, it will say, look, I better get lighter so that I can take the stress better and improve the endurance. Guess what? Your muscles are heavier than fats and what will your body shed more when it wants to get lighter? Muscle or fat? Your body will shed both but more muscles than fats.

Anyway, why would you want to lose weight only to become a smaller you with the same body shape without any muscle tone? Why would you want to be on a weight loss program that eats your muscles and lower your fat burning rate so much so that when you are off the program, the fats come piling back on again?

Therefore, while you are on a lose weight program, you must also be on a build muscle program. That will mean a combination of correct dietary habit, cardio exercises and weightlifting exercises to maintain muscle preservation and a fat loss result.

From now on tell people you are on a fat loss program and not a weight loss program. That you are on a correct eating habit instead of just simply dieting.

With the distinction clearly in mind, you will then know how to lose fat effectively, preserve and grow your muscles and at the same time losing weight on your bathroom scale. That would be an ideal way to achieve your weight loss objective because you will lose body fat instead of muscle and mere body wastes.

Are Your Relationships Making You Fat?

Are you constantly surrounded by temptation? Cant say no to those fattening lunch dates, or those home-baked pies from your mother-in-law or to the huge box of chocolates from your partner? The diet is hard enough without high-calorie foods being pushed in your direction. How can you stick to your resolve?

WebMD experts offer five simple strategies to help you stick to a healthy eating plan even when you’re surrounded by non-dieting friends and loved ones.

1. Make a Statement. Its up to the dieter to make his or her feelings known. Directly ask your loved ones not to give you food as gifts or eat in front of you. No matter how strong you are, you can’t stare fattening foods in the face every day without your willpower breaking down.

2. Keep Temptation Out of Sight. Even if your loved ones agree to eat their fattening goodies when you’re not around, ask them to keep it in a cabinet where you don’t normally go for your diet foods – you’ll be less tempted to eat it.

3. Learn the Art of Substitution. Give yourself a taste treat of your own by preparing a less-caloric dessert that captures some of the essence of what your family members are wolfing down. Be creative and you’ll find that watching others eat the goodies won’t be so hard.

4. Share the Health. Make the foods that everyone craves in a more healthful and calorie-conscious way. Use no-fat yogurt in place of mayonnaise, use skim milk instead of whole milk, make lasagna with low-fat cheese. Creating a low-calorie shopping list will also help. Choose baked chips instead of fried, popcorn instead of cheese doodles, diet soda instead of regular, you will be helping everyone.

5. Be Reassuring. Even when they say you look good the way you are, reassure your partner that your weight loss goals are driven by health, not vanity, and that losing those extra pounds will help ensure a better future for both of you. Explain the serious health risks involved in being overweight.

No- youre not weak-willed. Youre human. Just dont let those around you get the best of you. Follow these five easy steps and you wont fall off the weight loss wagon.

Lady Doctor Gets Death Threats for Revealing TOP SECRET Fat Loss Secret to General Public!

Her name is Dr Suzanne Gudakunst, and she’s marching to the beat of a different drum.

And no, nothing about her “secret” is difficult — nor does it require that you do something completely out of the ordinary or anything unnatural.

Instead, the Arizonian boasts proudly “…this is something that I caught onto just before 2002 when there was so much research and exploration going around concerning the human colon and digestive system working in harmony with nutritional absorption, and I started doing independent studies just to test things at first … but which I later expanded on after seeing some fantastic results.”

This same woman medical practitioner went on to accurately determine a definitive correlation between harmful plague and parasitic infestations of the human bowel tract, and people suffering chronic obesity — and who despite intense diet and exercise appeared to be unable to lose any weight whatsoever.

Over the course of six years the Arizona doctor developed a number of natural treatments for the removal of these same harmful, even life-threatening plaques and rapidly reproducing digestive parasites — and when applied to even worse-case patients suffering extreme obesity 98 of which were in immediate danger of dying she saw a 100 effectiveness and success rate.

She then borrowed from her research on the severely obese, and applied the same strategies on milder cases of overweight persons — only to find the same effectiveness and quality results as described above although the individual weight loss per subject wasn’t nearly as much as those obese patients 100 lbs to 200 lbs or more overweight.

So powerful is her secret that she’s able to reverse diabetes, rid illness altogether in people suffering from cancer linked directly to poor diet and overweight factors, as well as an elimination of an entire spectrum of serious and otherwise life-threatening diseases.

Nearly 100 of all her case subjects were told in the alternative by “conventional doctors” that they either had just months or years to live, or they would never live a life anything resembling remotely a “normal” existence — yet after applying Dr Suzanne’s treatments saw a complete contradiction to others doctors’ prognoses.

Again, nothing about her secret is unnatural or requires someone to do any major action or modification in their lives.

In fact, her entire treatment is based completely on built-into-nature ‘protection agents’ scattered throughout the world in the form of select herbs, extracts, and organic constituents, and which can be found in a variety of plants — but when combined in specific combinations and carefully chosen amounts make for a solution to what is perhaps the world’s worst ever plague OBESITY and the illnesses and diseases resulting from it — or at least severely aggravated or exacerbated by it.

Now to everyone else’s great gain, whether suffering from just a few extra pounds and inches, to those extremely fat and overweight, this brave, bold lady doctor is releasing to the general public her secret for forever destroying the tight unrelenting closed-fist of obesity’s stronghold over the now more than 40 of Americans labeled obese, and others worldwide.

But she’s not promising any of us for how long.

Some experts and sociologists suggest that in the bigger scheme of things, the world will never tolerate a discovery of such magnitude, any more than it would be realistic to expect a car that runs on water even if very real to ever become commercially available to the general public for day-to-day use.

One well-respected and famous diet & wellness author wrote years ago that if anyone ever “truly unlocked the keys to permanent fat loss, they may actually suffer the same fate as JFK.”

It is currently available at

…so you may want to head on over there now and get it and before someone or “something” gets it forever yanked out of ever getting in YOUR hand at least.

It’s in a very easily readable format and is quickly and readily understood and mastered by anyone with even a 4th grade reading level.

While you’re there, why not scroll down and review for yourself the huge successes others are now having with this incredible breakthrough in rapid, massive weight loss and extremely improved and enhanced health, now made freely available to the rest of us?

Energy Balance

When it comes to weight loss, the single most important thing you must keep in mind is the energy balance. In fact, this point is so important hundreds of books have been written about it. It’s the funding principle of every single weight loss program and it explains why you lose or gain weight.

The energy balance is the difference between your intake and output of energy.

IN – OUT BALANCE

Your IN is the food you eat. Food contains energy that’s why you die if you starve for weeks. The more you eat, the bigger your IN.

To keep things simple, your OUT is the energy you spend in physical activities it’s a little more complicated than that, but we’ll keep things simple here. Keep reading. Physical activity doesn’t mean just sports or exercise. Walking from home to work, walking around the shopping mall or grocery store all count. Even washing the dishes does, to a certain extend. We spend energy all day long. Anytime you’re not seated or lying, you spend more than the minimum. Of course, the harder the activity you’re doing, the more energy you spend.

At the end of the day, the BALANCE can be either

1 Positive. More energy IN from food than OUT from physical activities. That extra energy is stocked by your body as fat for later use. The problem is, when the balance stays positive for a long period of time, you store more and more fat and become overweight.

2 Negative. Good news. More energy OUT from physical activities than IN from food. The missing energy is taken from your energy store-yep, fat tissue. If the balance stays negative for a long period of time, you lose some of that tissue and become leaner.

3 Neutral. Your IN equals your OUT. No change in energy fat stores, no change in body weight.
