Scabies, What Should You Do Now?

Scabies can be a very itchy problem, one that can actually sneak up on you if you are not aware of where you have been sleeping or if you are not watching who you are coming into contact with during sports events. The disease, scabies is one that is a little bug, one that you cant see with your eyes, but one that will make a noticeable impression on your body. The tiny bug often lives in areas that are moist and warm on your body, such as the arm pits, or the genital areas, but can spread anywhere over the body.

Scabies is something that is not going to go away without taking medication. Scabies is a type of critter that is going to make your itch, and it seems as though the more you itch, the more you become even itchier, as this will also spread the critters to other areas of your body.

How do you get scabies?
Scabies is most often spread by touching the skin, by sleeping closely together, or having sex with another person who have scabies. Scabies is not something you can get by sitting on the toilet, or by casually walking by another person. If you are treating someone who has scabies, be sure to wear gloves and wash your hands while putting cream on the other persons body so you dont risk getting the disease. Often times between the fingers and under the nails are another way that people will transmit scabies and not even realize it.

The skin problem that causes tiny red bumps, that do not go away, that look like a rash actually are little bugs that are living in the skin. These things can be killed by simply using the scabies cream, putting it over your body for fifteen minutes, and then taking a shower. Repeating this process in just a few days is recommended to kill anything that may have hatched on the body since the last time you did take the cream.

It is recommended that you wash all your clothes in hot, very hot water and dry them completely in the dryer. You should use a bleach spray if possible on the bedding that you sleep on, and turn the mattress, using the bleach spray on the opposite side as well.

It doesnt take much to purchase the cream. In many of the online pharmacies, you dont even need a prescription to get the medication. If you dont have the medication, you will find it will spread, and you will find it very hard to ignore the itching on your body. Getting the cream is going to be the answer to solving this little problem. You dont have to tell anyone you have this problem, unless you have had a sleep over, shared some clothing that you took off and someone put on right away or if you are having sexually relations with someone. Remember only the closest physical contact is going to spread this disease.

Western Diet? Detox Today!

Detoxing your diet can be simple, but you may need a few days to get into the groove. Start off by writing out a plan of what you’re going to eat, go shopping beforehand, and cook larger portions of healthy meals so that you can take leftovers for lunch. You don’t need to spend a lot of money on herbs and supplements, just keep focused on real, whole foods. Even supermarkets have prepared foods that are simple and delicious!

We all have an inbuilt detox system. Cleansing organs include the digestive tract, the urinary system, the skin and the liver. You probably rarely think about your liver, and it rarely complains, unlike an aching muscle, fluttering heart or a groaning gut. But it is busy producing heat, balancing cholesterol, processing proteins, making bile, activating hormones and storing vitamins. It is also responsible for detoxifying most of the chemicals we come into contact with, such as natural food toxins, alcohol, cigarette smoke, and household chemicals.

The most common ingredients in the standard western diet that are causing health woes are caffeine, refined sugars, refined carbs, artificial sweeteners and food additives. Even vegetarians need to clean up their diet and allow their bodies to detoxify on a regular basis. No matter what your health goals are – more energy, weight loss, a healthier diet, or to heal from a disease, they can be addressed with a simplified, delicious, cleansing, vegetable based diet. A wholefoods vegan menu detoxifies your body and allows its natural healing powers to kick in to gear.

The liver can more or less function even with quite a lot of damage, but when working overtime it just doesn’t do all its various jobs quite as well. Symptoms of poor function include tiredness, dark circles under eyes, poor digestion and dull skin.

Detox Teas!
Detox teas incorporates the knowledge and experience of numerous herbalists, doctors, naturopaths, chiropractors and healers from cultures worldwide. From them detox teas is blended with a specific herbal formula, each herb working on the major detoxifying organs, such as the liver, kidneys, skin, blood and the lymph system. Each herb has a long-standing history of beneficial effects on the body and is still a valuable source of natural medicine today.

Can Detox Tea Relieve Stress?

What effects do today’s toxic pollutants and impurities have on the body? It becomes sluggish, fatigued, over stressed and defenseless against today’s disease. Environmental toxins hidden in our air, food and water are also hiding in us.

Is your body sending out warning signals? Taking health care into your own hands can be as complex as the intricacy of your own system. Your body sends out warning signals to tell you when it is weakened, over stressed, tired and sluggish. These warnings should not be taken lightly, your body is slowing down and needs help. Your body needs to work at its fullest potential without unneeded stress.

In today’s stress-oriented, industrialized world, the environment takes a heavy toll on our bodies. Pollutants in the air, in our food and in our water build up in our tissues. Sometimes we need to give our bodies a chance to clean out, to detoxify. In Ayurvedic tradition, this is done by using diet, exercise and herbs to rebalance the body’s generative and eliminative forces. The blend of detox herbs used in the formula is mild but effective and based on Ayurvedic principles. Herbal ingredients included are Ginger, Dandelion and Burdock which are known for their cleansing effect on the body. Drinking Detox Tea can be an important part of re-balancing and renewing body and mind.

The body does most of its detoxifying at night while the body is at rest so by taking Detox Tea in the morning, the body can continue its cleansing process throughout the day for a more consistent and complete cleanse.

Some signs of an overtaxed Liver are PMS, headaches, indigestion, hayfever, acne, bloat, Hepatitis, boils, carbuncles, fertility concerns, digestive disturbances, immune deficiency, chronic debilitating diseases, nervous system conditions, gall bladder concerns, kidney concerns, menstruation concerns, endometriosis, poor fat and protein digestion, fatigue or chronic fatigue syndrome. Obstruction of liver energy can cause intense feelings of frustration, rage, anger, and these emotions in turn further disrupt liver energy and suppress liver function, in a vicious self destructive cycle.

Most ingredients in Detox teas are 100 herbal and these Detox Teas and Capsules have been known for their cleansing and detoxifying qualities. We urge you to gather more information on Detox Teas and find out how detox tea can benefit you!

Who Gets Psoriasis? 4.5 Million Adults!

Psoriasis is an immune-mediated disease which affects the skin and joints. When it affects the skin it commonly appears as red scaly elevated patches called plaques. Psoriasis plaques frequently occur on the elbows and knees, but can affect any area of skin including the scalp and genital area.

Psoriasis can vary in severity, from minor localized patches to extensive or even complete skin coverage. Fingernails and toenails are often affected psoriatic nail dystrophy. Psoriasis can also cause inflammation of the joints. This is known as psoriatic arthritis.

Who Gets Psoriasis?
More than 4.5 million adults in the United States have been diagnosed with psoriasis, and approximately 150,000 new cases are diagnosed each year. An estimated 20 have moderate to severe psoriasis.

Is Psoriasis Gender Biased?
Psoriasis occurs about equally in males and females. Recent studies show that there may be an ethnic link. It seems that psoriasis is most common in Caucasians and slightly less common in African Americans. Worldwide, psoriasis is most common in Scandinavia and other parts of northern Europe. It appears to be far less common among Asians and is rare in Native Americans.

There also is a genetic component associated with psoriasis. Approximately one-third of people who develop psoriasis have at least one family member with the condition.

Research shows that the signs and symptoms of psoriasis usually appear between 15 and 35 years of age. About 75 develop psoriasis before age 40. However, it is possible to develop psoriasis at any age. After age 40, a peak onset period occurs between 50 and 60 years of age.

Childhood Psoriasis
About 1 in 10 people develop psoriasis during childhood, and psoriasis can begin in infancy. The earlier the psoriasis appears, the more likely it is to be widespread and recurrent.

There is growing emphasis on quality of life research in all of medicine, and psoriasis impacts on every dimension of health-related quality of life. In my patient population, many of my patients are spending an hour a day taking care of their psoriasis and are using numerous treatments. Psoriasis treatment is costly, financially and psycologically.

Psoriatic Arthritis
Psoriatic arthritis develops in roughly one million people across the United States, and 5 to 10 experience some disability. Psoriatic arthritis usually first appears between 30 and 50 years of age, often months to years after skin lesions first occur.

Cure For Cellulite

Cellulite- what is it?

Cellulite is the dimpled appearance of skin on the thighs of women. It also occurs on the buttocks. As women age, cellulite tends to increase. It looks like orange peel. The skin is not smooth, but has dimples on it. That is because of the uneven fat distribution below the skin layer.

Cellulite- why does it form?

Cellulite is a problem of displacement of fat below the skin. As we age, the dermal layer loses collagen and strength. As the dermal layer loses collagen, a shift takes place in the way the fat is placed below the skin. This uneven fat causes the dimples. If you believe that getting liposuction done will help, please drop the thought. It does not. The fat distribution cannot be reversed. Cellulite is something like wrinkles on the face. As we age, the collagen breaks down and reduces and we get wrinkles. Cellulite is similar. The only difference is that wrinkles can be treated easily while cellulite cannot be treated that easily. The way we get wrinkles on the face, we get Cellulite on thighs and buttocks. Why only women get it and not men is another question that will be answered below.

Cellulite- can it be prevented?

Cellulite cannot be prevented. There is no difference in the Cellulite fat and other body fat. The difference lies in the way the fat is laid out below the skin. That causes the dimples. Cellulite does not depend upon the weight. Even underweight women can get it. Cellulite depends on genetics, hormones and aging. Men rarely get it.

Cellulite- what is the treatment?

There are no treatments for cellulite. Some massages can help but only for few days. There is no permanent cure, though supplements, pills and creams are being sold claiming cellulite cure. People talk of different diet that will help treating cellulite. Creams are sold promising cellulite free appearance. Alternative therapies are suggested. Because there is no sure cure for cellulite, innocent customers are made to believe many things. Please don’t try anything unless your doctor says- yes. Cellulite cannot be treated that easily.

Fingernails common problems and care

Nails have no colour and are transparent. Because of the abundance of blood vessels under the skin, nails appear pink when healthy. The tissue of the nail is called the matrix and the white half-moon lunula is at the top of this. Below the matrix is the nail bed, where the nail attaches to the finger. The cuticle, which is the skin that grows over the nail bed, grows towards the tip of the nail and forms a watertight seal protecting the matrix. The cuticle should never be cut away as this increases the chance of getting a nail infection.

Massaging your cuticles with oils, which include primrose, camellia or almond, can soften the skin, which helps when pushing back the cuticle when manicuring your nails. Rosehip oil is another good oil that can be used, this oil contains prostaglandin, which strengthens the nail cells and increases circulation it can also stimulate growth. The fatty acids it contains will replenish moisture and the vitamin C content helps to fend off germs.

Nail Problems

Brittle, discoloured nails, or nails with lines may be symptoms of changes within the body. Thyroid, kidney or problems with circulation could be the cause of brittle nails; even the fact that there is not enough Vitamin A, omega-3 fatty acids or calcium in your diet may also be a contributing factor.

Vertical lines may be caused by a shortage of iron, while lines that are horizontal indicate stress levels are raised. Also, both of these symptoms may indicate none or little absorption of nutrients. Tell-tale signs of fastingpoor diet are white spots on the nail. Introducing a zinc supplement to your diet may help to restore this to a normal level. Nails, which peel, crack or chip easily, may be caused by lack of minerals being absorbed – a mineral supplement may help with this.

Common Nail Problems and Possible Causes

- Spoon-shaped nails lack of iron in the diet
- Square, wide nails hormonal imbalances
- Very thick nails the onset of vascular degeneration or thyroid conditions
- End of nail curves down lack of vitamin B12

Looking After Your Nails

To ensure healthy nails, a diet should include plenty of fruit and vegetables to make sure that vitamins and minerals are absorbed properly. Silica is essential for the formation of healthy and strong nails a silica supplement in the diet would be most beneficial.

Psoriasis- Relief From Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a very bad skin condition if it flares severely. Only the patient knows what heshe is undergoing. There is no way to share the trauma of skin falling and itching. The application of medication tires the patient after some time. One wants to run away from it but cannot. How to get relief from psoriasis? Let us talk about it.

Psoriasis- acceptance

To accept that I have psoriasis and it will not go away for my lifetime is the first step. When we get stressed, we trigger more of psoriasis. Better to keep calm. Let psoriasis be there on the body. Try to take attention away from it. Use the medicines as directed and stop worrying about it. Asking repeatedly- why me, will not help. Everyone has some pain. We have psoriasis. Let us accept it. If you suffer from psoriasis, you must have experienced that when psoriasis flares up, you get mentally disturbed. It beats us in both the directions. But we have to conquer it. The only way is to surrender to it without any resistance.

Psoriasis- think of other things

Thinking of Psoriasis will be of no help. That does not cure it. That worsens it. Better to think of other things in life. Try to achieve goals and love. Try to love others. Make life better. There is no other way out of a disease, which will be a lifelong companion. Make friends with it, because it will never leave you.

Psoriasis- medication

Many of us get very disheartened after trying many medications. We find that psoriasis returns. Some of the treatments are very troublesome and messy. Others have side effects. We get tired of medicines. Many of us search for alternatives to modern medicine. But after trying every possibility, we conclude that nothing works. It only tires us more. Better to talk to your doctor about this and use only few medicines. Accept whatever relief they give and continue with life as cheerfully as possible.
