Seven Skin Care Commandments You Ought To Follow

Obsessing on having a flawless skin is really pointless. With todays craze on skin perfection, women are consumed with purchasing skin care products and trying out various beauty regimens just to achieve the perfect skin they see on TV commercials and magazines.

There is really nothing wrong in using beauty products to achieve a young and healthy looking skin. However, most of these products only offer false benefits such as instant facelifts, zero pores, and perfect skin smoothness. In fact, there is really no need for you to adhere using such products just to have beautiful skin. Remember that the body changes as you become older. Hence, wrinkles, facial lines, freckles, and other changes in the skin are natural indications of aging.

As mentioned earlier, beauty products are not that necessary just so you can have beautiful skin. Expensive beauty treatments are also not always the best option to maintain a flawless skin. Remember that achieving a beautiful and smooth skin doesnt really need to be costly.

If great skin is what you want, then read the tips below on how to achieve a smoother and younger-looking skin.

1. Get enough nutrition and rest.
Adequate nutrition and rest are essential if you are aiming to achieve a beautiful skin. Make sure to have at least eight hours of sleep everyday. If you eat well, it is reflected on your skin; so eat right and maintain a healthy daily diet.

2. Avoid nicotine.
To refrain from smoking is probably one the most clich reminders on whats good and bad to the skin. Since the skin is among the largest organs of the human body, it therefore needs a lot of oxygen so the skin wont look gray and dull.

3. Be stress free.
If you are always stressed out from work or other activities, it definitely shows on your physical appearance, particularly on the skin. Hence, find ways to perfectly manage stress and pressure to avoid experiencing physical complications, particularly the skin, as side effects of intense stress.

4. Wash your face as often as necessary.
Washing the face is perhaps the simplest yet very hygienic skin care regimen. Never ever forget to wash your face before going to bed every night as your face is packed with dust, dirt, and dried makeup.

5. Avoid popping or squeezing out pimples with your fingers.
Pimples are indeed very frustrating. But popping or squeezing them out using your fingers is really a no no, for this will only traumatize and scar your face. If you want to get rid of pimples, try using an effective and safe skin care ointment to dry the blisters.

6. Regularly clean your makeup.
Make sure to regularly replace the old sponges of your compacts with fresh sponges. Using dirty makeup paraphernalia may lead to acne, pimples, and blisters on your face. In addition, throw away old cosmetics and buy new ones every six months.

7. Practice applying less makeup.
A simple makeup is better than applying layers of colors on your face. However, if you really want to apply more makeup, do it occasionally so your skin can adjust to the layers of ingredients you applied on your face.

Relieving Dry Skin And Winter Itch

The winter air can leave a chill in the air and on our skin that chaps and chafes our skin. And, the additional heat, can warm our hearts and our home, but dry out the air and again, our skin, leaving it dehydrated and dry. And, in both cases we can experience a common condition known as winter itch.

According to experts dry skin is a direct by-product of a loss of moisture. They note, that depending on which layer dermis or epidermis the water content of the skin can vary, but is estimated at 80 for the epidermis, but much dry for the dermis, or surface layer of skin. In fact, according to the experts the dermis is comprised of dead skin cells and has a water content of about 10-30 percent.

When the outer layer, the stratum corneum dries out, it loses its luster and results in dry skin. And, skin that is low on water and dry will fissure, making it more susceptible to bacterial and fungal infections.

Moisturizers can help rehydrate the skin preventing further water loss and dryness. While some may result in skin swelling slightly re ducting fine line and wrinkles and making pores appear smaller, they do not repair sun damage. However, they can also help skin feel softer and smoother. And experts notes the four target areas moisturizers generally address.

1. Skin barrier repairs
2. Increasing water content
3. Diminishing amount of water loss
4. Restoring skin’s capacity to attract, hold and redistribute water.

And, experts offer the following suggestions for dealing with dry skin and winter itch.

Refrain from hot tubs and hot baths. While the heat may feel soothing, it’s actually serves to strip your skin of essential oils and depletes it of water, making skin drier and matters worse.

Lather you ligaments while still wet. Applying moisturizer to damp skin helps seal in the moisture.

Creamy, rich moisturizers are the best kind. Consider putting some petroleum jelly on your hands covered with cotton gloves while you sleep at night to keep hands supple and smooth.

Note that moisturizers containing lactic acid or urea can draw water into the skin.

Moisturize hands after each washing or when coming in from the cold.

Treating Acne, Scars, And Wrinkles With A Tca Trichloroacetic Acid Skin Peel

Everyone has heard of skin peels and there are many – lactic, glycolic, salicylic, TCA trichloroacetic acid, and phenol. Of these there are basically 3 levels

Minor, superficial peels – lactic, glycolic, salicylic.
Medium depth peels – TCA, Jessner’s
Deep peels – phenol.

We will only deal with medium strength TCA peels here as they are the easiest to apply Jessner’s can require multiple concurrent applications and taping to aide in skin penetration, safest, and, by far, the most effective against numerous skin ailmentsconditions. They are also one of the most effective treatments for acne currently known to the medical community.

The most common treated area is the face. TCA is applied usually in a cream. Doctors will mix Obagi, Apeel, or other previously prepared cream with TCA and then apply this mixture to the face or body area to be treated. The creams tend to have a skin dye of green or blue so the doctor can easily see what areas have and or have not been treated. It is usually applied with a cotton or foam applicator. This is then left on for 10-20 minutes. Some doctors prefer to use a straight non-cream solution of TCA. This works much faster and penetrates deeper and is used for deeper peels.

After application and proper time for the desired depth is achieved, the doctor will apply a neutralizer. This is usually just a mixture of baking soda and water made into a paste. Some doctors will add chipped ice to further cool the skin. The skin will now be inflammed and if no dye was used will look like a bad sunburn. This will last 2-4 days until it starts to peel off and reveal new, clean, younger looking skin. Depending on the skin problems treated it may take several treatments, but a major difference will be seen immediately.

The results from a TCA peel are far more reaching than with a regular, superficial peel. Results can last 6 months to a year and it has been known to keep acne at bay, shrink and lessen acne scars, reduce and tighten up wrinkles, improve color, pigmentation, etc… A TCA peel cannot be applied as often as a more superficial peel. Generally speaking, a superficial peel can be applied every 2-5 weeks. A Stronger, medium depth peel needs more time batween peels for the skin to properly heal and regenerate. Doctors like to wait 2-6 months or more between these peels.

This process of chemically exfoliating the skin is more rapid and deeper in a TCA peel than in most peels. Many skin peels, like lactic, glycolic and salicylic are good at reducing oily buildup overactive sebaceous glands, and very minor skin imperfections. but they cannot effectively treat acne, wrinkles, fine lines, etc… TCA has been proven to treat these deeper skin conditions and is offered at almost every dermatologist and plastic surgeon office. The improvement in skin color, tone, etc… is so drastic that women, even men are lining up in droves to have this done all over the world.

Cure For Cellulite

Cellulite- what is it?

Cellulite is the dimpled appearance of skin on the thighs of women. It also occurs on the buttocks. As women age, cellulite tends to increase. It looks like orange peel. The skin is not smooth, but has dimples on it. That is because of the uneven fat distribution below the skin layer.

Cellulite- why does it form?

Cellulite is a problem of displacement of fat below the skin. As we age, the dermal layer loses collagen and strength. As the dermal layer loses collagen, a shift takes place in the way the fat is placed below the skin. This uneven fat causes the dimples. If you believe that getting liposuction done will help, please drop the thought. It does not. The fat distribution cannot be reversed. Cellulite is something like wrinkles on the face. As we age, the collagen breaks down and reduces and we get wrinkles. Cellulite is similar. The only difference is that wrinkles can be treated easily while cellulite cannot be treated that easily. The way we get wrinkles on the face, we get Cellulite on thighs and buttocks. Why only women get it and not men is another question that will be answered below.

Cellulite- can it be prevented?

Cellulite cannot be prevented. There is no difference in the Cellulite fat and other body fat. The difference lies in the way the fat is laid out below the skin. That causes the dimples. Cellulite does not depend upon the weight. Even underweight women can get it. Cellulite depends on genetics, hormones and aging. Men rarely get it.

Cellulite- what is the treatment?

There are no treatments for cellulite. Some massages can help but only for few days. There is no permanent cure, though supplements, pills and creams are being sold claiming cellulite cure. People talk of different diet that will help treating cellulite. Creams are sold promising cellulite free appearance. Alternative therapies are suggested. Because there is no sure cure for cellulite, innocent customers are made to believe many things. Please don’t try anything unless your doctor says- yes. Cellulite cannot be treated that easily.

The Latest In Skin Care A Face Full of Snake Venom

Snakes tend to have a negative reputation in most cultures. The image of the tempting serpent is often used to evoke the tragedy of the original sin in Judaism and Christianity. Most English-speaking people would give the phrase a brood of vipers a very negative connotation, often using it to metaphorically refer to a group of individuals engaged in unsavory activities. A snake bite is often fear not for the fangs but because of the venom of the serpent. Even though the typical venomous snake does not always have potent enough venom to kill an adult person, the danger levels are still very high.

However, recent studies have shown that snake venom is not all that bad. Some snakes have venom that has potential medical uses, with one of them being linked to skin care. Yes, snake venom can be used for skin care.

To be specific, the venom of the Temple viper has been found to contain a compound that could be of great use to skin care and cosmetics. A tripeptide protein found in the venom of the Temple viper, which has been successfully synthesized by Canadian cosmetics company Euoko, has properties that make it very similar to the popular Botox. The component in the venom that has this ability, a protein known as Walgerlin-1, has potent uses as a muscle relaxant and anesthetic. The protein in the venom can be dangerous to humans, even when introduced topically, but experts claim that this is only due to the sheer concentration in Temple Viper Venom. The synthetic protein used has a lower concentration and is being advertised as a safe product to use; one which is more effective than Botox in removing wrinkles and making skin appear younger.

The protein is believed to relax muscles and inhibits muscle contraction. In large enough amounts, it can result in temporary loss of movement, but in controlled amounts, it can smooth skin tissue and remove wrinkles. The formula used by Euoko is also said to contain a mix of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and proteins that strengthen the skin, support the effect of the tripeptide main ingredient, and ease the transition of the chemical into the skin. This not only gives it a more nourishing effect than Botox, but it also makes it easier to use on people. The current formula developed by Euoko does not require an injection and can be applied topically, which many customers have been known to view as an advantage over most other products of this sort.
According to Euoko, they have done extensive internal testing to ensure that the formula is safe for use and does not have any of the highly toxic effects of Temple viper venom. They also claim that various third-party, independent laboratories were contracted to conduct tests to make sure that the synthetic venom does not have any toxic effects. While it is possible that very sensitive individuals might develop some nasty side effects, Euoko claims that there is absolutely no danger of dying because of using their snake venom-based skin care treatment.
